Snap a photo of the Matterhorn
You've probably seen a picture of the Matterhorn without realizing, as it's one of the most iconic mountains in the world. Even if you don't want to climb it, trying to get a great picture is an adventure on its own! We'd recommend trying a few different locations for the perfect shot, including Gornergrat and Riffelsee Lake.
Wander around Lake Geneva
As the largest lake in the Alps, it's unlikely you'll get very far around Lake Geneva, but it's worth visiting all the same. Stretching between Switzerland and France, this is the perfect place to travel between the two countries, stopping at one of the numerous lake towns on your journey. From lovely Lausanne to gorgeous Geneva, there's plenty to explore in the area and on the lake itself.
Admire Ascona
Lying on the north shore of Lake Maggiore, you'd be mistaken for thinking the town of Ascona belongs to Italy. This Italian-speaking lakeside town has all the color and charm of Italy, but also a distinctive Swiss feel. Visit in the summer months to wander through the streets before spending an afternoon on the lake.
