North Macedonia rail network
The principal line, and the route most visitors will travel, is the north/south rail link between Belgrade (Beograd in Serbian) and Thessaloniki in Greece, stopping off in Skopje, capital of North Macedonia with a population of 600,000.
Currently, international trains are not running to both Belgrade (Serbia) and Thessaloniki (Greece).

International trains
The main north – south line from Niš in Serbia to the port of Thessaloniki in Greece on the Aegean Sea (Corridor X), passes through Kumanovo, Skopje, Veles, and Gevgelija.
Currently, construction works are ongoing on this part of the network, which is why there is no international train traffic possible to both Belgrade (Serbia) and Thessaloniki (Greece).
