Golden Pass Scenic Train in Switzerland

The Golden Pass scenic train connects central Switzerland with Lake Geneva. Depart from historic Lucerne and cross the Brünig Pass with the Golden Pass panoramic train. The Golden Pass line continues towards Gstaad, a favourite holiday destination for celebrities worldwide. Then, the train makes an electrifying descent towards Montreux, passing through vineyards and country estates to finally arrive at shimmering Lake Geneva.

Between Interlaken and Montreux, new rolling stock has been introduced in 2025. A fun fact for train aficionados – these new trains have a state-of-the-art ‘gauge changing’ system on board to switch from 1435mm to 1000mm tracks in Zweisimmen. The wheels will move closer to each other to run on narrow gauge tracks between Zweisimmen and Montreux.
